Several ??'s.Answer 1, All or none at all

ok here goes I have a 91,355cu SD all mods are in my sig.Which I am curently trying to custom burn a chip for Over all it was driveable not real friendly but atleast able to drive and get some breakin miles on the motor. It would start up and idle pretty nice, no codes. Here's where the trouble stars, finally got around to hooking up a heated 02,and a knock senor for a 350 instead of the one out of my 305(to get by).Now when I start it up doesn't want to idle very well. when my car is idling my scanner reads .60volts(at 0% TPS angle) I thought it was supposed to be .54volts.And is idling much lower than it was before I parked it a week ago.Being SD and of the non adjustable TPS any guesses why.Sorry don't recall what it was reading when it was idling decent(didn't bother to check since it was ok,my bad)(2)I got a code 43 ESC, spark control failure. My knock sensor may be over torqued I don't think my torque wrench is correct.I know over torqueing can cause over sensitivity but could it throw that code. Also never got any knock counts with the old sensor, and got 5 today in a matter of 1 min just sitting there idling,(maybe cause now I have the correct knock sensor)Is there anyone else using an Auto X-Ray scanner. It may not even be scan tool related but it has a desired idle reading on it & and changes with just about ever scan. Why is this is this because of something the ECM is telling it or what.Hope this make a little sense to you all.Thank for any help

Your whole problem is that knock sensor and code 43. If you're getting knock counts while idling you either:
a.)have a heinous exhaust leak or a bracket banging on the block giving you false knock
b.)the sensor is too tight/doesn't have enough tape on it making it overly sensitive to internal engine noises
c.)you bought a bad sensor (and yes, this really happens out of the box more often that you think, which especially sucks w/ electrical parts like a KS cuz you can't return it once installed, grrrrr)

Anyhow, you need to get to the root of the problem. With it getting false knock like that it is retarding your timingexcessively, giving you your driveability problems.
...ed

ps. Don't worry about the TPS, as long as it shows a normal/smooth sweep it is fine, SD cars automatically calibrate themselves to the TPS on startup, so variation on ideal from a MAF car is fine.

Well I don't have an exhaust leak,to tight very possiable will get a differant torque wrench and do it again,no tape at all on it,there was already what looked to be pipe dope on it so I didn't bother with tape.A bad sensor well lets hope not or I'll be going back to Advanced Auto.OK I won't worry about the TPS.Thanks alot Ed.Now I have somewhere to start I knew I could count someone out there

you may want to tape it with tape...not to stop any leaking (that too) but more or less to insulate it against engine noise. i have heard the just the excess noise from headers can cause ping noise thats not really there
