i just finished dropping in my L98 tpi motor. i got everything hooked up to the best of my ability ( not that great ). and when i turn the key i get nothing and my dash shows some weird things. for starters the security comes on for a sec then goes away, then my temp goes off the chart. my car was originally a SD V6, now its an MAF V8. im not sure where to start looking. the things that i have that are new is a starter and a battery. i used my V6 alt. if that makes a difference. i noticed when i turn the key to the on position i dont even here the fuel pump going. the wireharness is form an 87 and the motor is an 88. not sure if the relays are good or not cause i have not checked them yet im just looking for a little advice. anything to look for would be helpful.

My second suggestion is more a question..what year is your ECM? if it is the same year as your wiring harness OK, if it isnt then you need a diagram of the wire harness pinouts for both the 87 harness you have and the ECM of whatever year you have.

correct me if im wrong, but i didnt think T/A's came in V6 flavor?

 

the harness and the ecm are the same year. hey im in FL too ( coral springs to be exact ) and yeah its a bird but i like to call it a T/A ( same body kit )
