Nitto Drag Radials

What's the lowest pressure that can be run on these at the track? Does lower pressure really help alot?
I used to be able to get out of the hole good on street tires and stock convertor.
Now with a PI 2800 stall and new intake I have a hard time hooking up on the Nitto's.
So far I've aired them down to about 25 psi but still had trouble. How low can I go and will it help alot?

Bob

I know it's not directly related, but with the BFG drag radials you can go as low as 12 psi.

I hope to try my GForce DR's next weekend.

I have Bridgestone Potenza RE910's on my car..regular street tires and I had mine down to 18psi when I ran,so I really dont see you having a problem going as low as 12psi

I have done some tests by doing a small burnouts at different pressures and examining the black mark. My 245/50/16's on stock 16x8 wheels left the best marks at 24 psi, and thats where they seem to hook the best. Anymore I run 24-26 psi all the time. The sidewalls are a little loose but the tires wear more evenly and *** help those that try me from a stoplight

Am I to assume that you also run Nitto's.

Don't have Nitto's but with ET Steets, I got the best traction with about 22-24 psi. At 18 psi I noticed the inside of the skid mark was getting light.
Thats with tube type tires so with Drag Radials I can't see going any lower then 18 psi. I know a couple of cars at my track that run on Drag Radials (BFG's not Nitto's) and they use 20 psi.
