MAF to Speed Density

MAF to Speed Density

I have a 1987 Trans Am with 305TPI. I want to use a K&N cone style filter on my TB. I understand that to do this I will have to remove the MAF from the equation by going to speed density. Educate me on the speed density and conversion techniques, parts, EPROM etc. Thanks, Mark

Why do you want to use the cone filter? It sucks up hot engine air instead of cool fresh air like the stock setup. Cool air makes more power.
