What should I do?
The other day while trying to change my thermostat I broke one of the bolts in the intake, now I have to take everything off down to the intake so I can get it fix. I know I will not be into the engine much but I was wondering if there is anything I should do while I have the intake off. I am not really mechanically minded but I can do some and would appreciate any input from you all, even if it means I need to have a shop do it.
Thanks
Oh yeah, I have a '89 IROC with a 350 TPI, 700r4 pretty much stock.

be sure to mark the position of the rotor button before lifting the distributor , has to go back in the same position to keep timing correct. be sure to clean all surfaces good, use red or black rtv not the blue on your intake when reassembling. also dont force any of the bolts ,remember its aluminum.now is a good time to have injectors checked and cleaned.good time for some port work if youre up to it.definately put the new o-rings on the injectors, put oil on them when replacing, makes it alot easier.when replacing intake be sure to put a kinda thick bead of rtv across front and back of block run it up on the head about a quarter of an inch for a good seal.also good time for an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and new diaphram. hope this helps any questions just ask, later jimmy
