I have like a days worth of work to do on mine before I fire it up. Just need to prime the oil system, set the rocker arms and hook the fuel pump up.

My setup consists of a Ram Jet 350 with Fast Burn heads, LT4 Hot Cam, GMPP 1.6 aluminum RR, 30lb/hr SVO injectors, modified MEFI3 computer(AS&M), coated SLP 1 3/4 headers, etc etc.

Anyone else doing something like this?

------------------
L98, 3.27 9-bolt, Hooker shorty headers, custom 2.5inch Y-pipe, no cat, 3inch 2chamber flowmaster, JET AFPR, Ported MAF, Best ET: 13.86 @100mph. 1.99 60'
17 inch ROH "ZS" wheels. 17x8.5(front) and 17x9.5 (rear). Firestone Firehawk SZ50s. 245/45/zr17s and 275/40/zr17s. T56

On the way... Radar Blue 89 Formula, T56, Ram Jet 430, Ram Air, 17inch ROHs.

Another thing I figured out....The whole Throttle cable bracket situation. I took the kickdown cable bracket that came with the ram jet motor and modified it. It just had the large square hole for the TV cable in it, but I cut another hole in it at the bottom for the throttle cable. Works great. By the way, I am using a 4cyl thirdgen throttle cable that I got at the Fbody salvage yard (suppposed to be the longest that came in a thirdgen). You have to get a longer one because the throttle linkage is on the passenger side of the motor instead of the drivers side. Stock TPI cable was too short.

Still pretty darn sure that the Aeromotive Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator for an LT1 Corvette will bolt right on to the Ram Jet's fuel rails. Thats what Im gonna get.

I just recieved my ramjet intake and fastburn heads from gmpartsdirect.com the other day. Will be putting this together over the winter for next year. The heads look pretty good but not as great as GM claims with their "Cast Porting" Technology. They definatly could use some cleanup but should be nothing major. The valves are definatly light weight. Unfortunatly they dont have undercut stems. The chambers look pretty good and should unshroud with the smaller 2.00 and 1.55 valves. The ramjet manifold itself looks pretty good as well. Material will need to be taken out to match the taller Fastburn head ports. The runners are 4.25" and the plenum was actually bigger than I expected. The manifold is rather heavy though weighing in around 30 pounds and I still am unsure if it will fit under the hood (87 TA). I can probably take some pics if people are interested.

Yeah, I had to open my ram jet intake ports up quite a bit to match the opening on the fast burns. There seemed to be plenty of meat there to take away though. I had no problems opening it up to the size of the heads.

I did a little clean-up on the fast burns, but nothing major. I mainly just smoothed out some of the flaws (rough spots) in the casting on the intake and exhaust ports. I also did a complete polish job on the combustion chambers. Started with like 80grit sanding rolls on the dremel to take most of roughness out. Then I went to some 220 grit paper and sanded by hand. Then I went to 600 grit by hand to really get it smooth. Then just polished them up with some aluminum polish. Those chambers looked sweet. Its important not to remove any material in the combustion chamber on those heads. They say that if you change the shape of it you may hurt performance. Polishing should be fine though.

That inatake will be a close fit with a TA hood. I did some measuring and I think it will clear a power bulge Formula hood. It will be tight fit though. Thats all I can think of right now.

The tps and iac sensor need to be respliced into the tb for the ramjet intake becuause they use different connectors but shouldn't be too hard because they use the same wires. The ramjet also uses a map sensor but you could block it off and use the maf sensor as well. The coolant temp sensors directly plug into the intake so that shouldnt be a problem.
