Miniram vs. LT-1
Miniram vs. LT-1
which of these would be a better induction? I was planning of visiting a junkyard and seeing if I could find an LT-1 intake and try to send it off to be extrude honed. Which would be better, if its worth the extra money I will get the miniram.
Thanks,
Bryan

You really do not need to extrude hone an LT1 intake.. The stock opening of the intake for the TB is 52 mm... All you really need to do is to gasket match the intake ports to your setup if needed and boring the TB openings to 58mm depending on which TB you use ..The LT1 intake can handle a ton of h.p. before becoming a restriction. Now on that note, I guess your thinking about doing John Ms conversion on a non LT1 engine right? Because it wont work right up on a normal SBC motor.

Sorry, Rockind78, my last post was confusing, so I did a minor edit to it.. Thanks for pointing it out.
Yep, the throttle bodys are 48mm with the LT1, but the machined openings on the LT1 intake are 52 mm. So if you upgraded to a 52mm TB, there is no need for machine work on the openings. You would only need to open them up more if you went with a 58mm.
