Please Read I am going to try a little experiment with a SuperRam

Ok first off before anyone flames me or anything I remember reading an article in the old All Chevy several years ago where this guy had a 305 Iroc with 58cc Vette heads with a SuperRam and Nos. He ran a best of 11.78.Ok I recently bought a SuperRam with intentions of putting it on my 383 buildup in the future. I was actually thinking of throwing it on the setup I have now just out of curiosity.
I have a remanufactured 305 short block with dish cast pistons. It's bored to the max .060 over. ( I was surprised to find this out when I removed the heads) I have 58cc HP heads. They are basically identical 305 torquers that I got from this place that did extra porting to them among other things. It also has a 214/224 cam with 1:6 ratio rockers. I am also running NOS. The car has 4:11s in the back. A little too much but I bought the rear used. All this is in a 89 Iroc that was originally a 350.I know it would be way too much for my motor but out of curiosity I want to try it. My heads and cam put my Rpms up there where the stock Tpi chokes. I would like to burn a chip for this also. I expect to lose a lot of lower Rpm grunt but gain some upper RPM breathing with would be good in the 1/4.
What do you think? It's just an experiment. A bigger motor is definitely going in there next summer

Why not? I'd like to see a SR on a 305 and see how high it could rev and the dyno numbers and some track times. Everyone says a SR is too much for a 305, it might be, but it would still be interesting.

Guess what, the super ram is for a larger engine. I tried the same thing with vette heads and the stock tpi was faster. You will lose a lot of low end, without some kind of power adder I don't think it will work well at all.

You talking to me? I already have one as stated above.

and rezinn, You're probably right but I am still gonna do it. It's not a daily driver so I can have a little fun playing with it until the bigger motor is done.

The car I was speaking of was in the August 1995 issue of All Chevy.(I dug it out of my collection ) The guy's name was Gene Jones from Long Beach, California. He ran 11.78 with a SuperRam and Nos. It didn't say how big a shot he fed it. Interesting reading anyhow. I need to scan this article.
