I'll start this off for you, since I did it on my '79 K5 Blazer.
Get the hardware off the donor vehicle (unless you are getting a complete kit from TPIS or someone like that) that includes the distributor, intake manifold, plenum, runners, throttle body, computer, and all related sensors. You will also need a high pressure fuel pump (in tank or frame rail mount, I use a Bosch inline frame one). Most important is to decide a couple of things - are you going MAF or Speed Density (this decision may be made for you by the donor vehicle - if it is pre-90 it will be MAF, post 90 SD) and get a harness for it. Can either cobble/modify a stock harness (if you can find) or get an aftermarket (I used Painless) and before I forget decide what, if anything, you will NOT utilize. Such as VSS, VATS, EGR, etc. I do not use VSS on my Blazer, nor VATS, and have a custom chip that does not use those inputs.
So much to consider.........do you want the serpentine setup off the donor? I would, I did that and it is sweet. Do you want electric fans? I did, but not controlled by the ECM, mine are controlled by a sensor that is in the radiator, and the motor runs 195* all day long.
You'll have to weld in an O2 bung into the collector/manifold for the closed loop. Not a biggie.
What tranny? I run a T350 and therefore do not have the ECM lock and unlock the (missing) 700R4 and it is no problem.
I'm sure there is more, but this is the main stuff...........
Let me know if you have any other questions, I will be glad to help.

Another thing came to mind..........the heads you use must be post-87 if you are to match up any post 87 TPI setup on your motor.........different intake bolt configuration. <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by 383-Z28:

Also, on the fuel lines, I ran new 3/8" steel supply and 5/16" return lines - remember that high pressure fuel pump should not be run with 'stock' rubber lines, etc.

There is a good book I highly recomend. "TPI Swappers Guide" it will teach you everything you need to know and walk you through the basics. Defiantly worth the $15-20. Buy it before anything else to see if the swap is something you really want to do.
