2 fuel pumps too much
2 fuel pumps too much
I'm running an in tank low pressure pump (3-7lbs) that feeds and external high pressure pump. If I start the car after the high pressure pump has primed and the pressure is at 40lbs the car immediately floods as in soaks the plugs with fuel.
If I prime the system and switch off the high pressure pump the car will start and run on the in tank pump. Although it doesn't run well and I haven't driven it yet as I have no exhaust system installed as yet it free revs and idles fairly well.
If while running at any rpm I switch on the high pressure pump it immediately floods and kills the motor.
Everything checks out as far as ohming the injectors, tps, IAC, timing, fpr, map, cts etc.
Could the ECM or PROM cuase this? I'm really stumped. The injectors are new Ford 19lbers. I'm considering trying the old injectors.
Any thoughts/ideas?

I think the two pumps is a bad idea, but if your pressure is good and it's flooding, I would be thinking an injector is sticking. They can ohm good but still be bad.
