some advice?
okay guys, in the classic gear head manner, i got smoked last night, and i have some cash saved up, and i want some suggestions on the best way to get some speed!
My car:
1985 t/a
swapped in a close to 15k mi 87 L98, runs very well.
this engine got me average runs in the 14.4's at 95 last year while it was in the GTA, now it's in this car which should be a bit lighter without all the sound deadening, engine is bone stock from the crappy 87 airbox to the manifolds, i have a full exhaust behind that.
car has a 700 r4 and everything listed in my sig
i have a prom burner and the ability to datalog, running the 165 ecm/maf
i have roughly 500 dollars to work with right now.
we raced on the highway from 45, and from a dig, on the highway i lost comically and that's what i'm more worried about, on the dig i did what i was supposed to, pulled ahead and stayed there long enough to call it a win.
so, i've been trying to think of options, so far i've come up wit(in order from mild to wild)
Headers and y pipe
cam
intake mods(siamesing)
rockers
SFc's
lca's
n20(dunno if i trust my fuel system for more then a 50 shot)
pondered a rear mount turbo, all diy, but i think it's past my experience level.
so, with only 500 to work with, i'm really wondering where it should go. i know the weak points of the car but i can't asses all of them, and the most effective mod on the list, n20, only hurts me more in the other departments of traction and rigidity.
what do you guys think?
oh and requirements for the car include being able to drive like any other car, it's my daily and frankly i want to keep it VERY streetable.
