New owner to be
Hi all!!
Pretty soon I will be trading my Porsche 944 money pit for an 89 Formula 350 Firebird. I am really excited.
I already know that the car needs a starter and an egr valve, but are there any quirks or routine maintenance things I should look for once I get it? Anything that is known to go wrong on these that I should be aware of?
I just figured I'd ask since you guys know way more about the car than I do

Haha, yeah it seems like a good trade to me. Probably just getting another money pit, like jv9999 said, but the difference being that American parts are MUCH cheaper to replace.
That 944 was just too much work and I couldn't drive it without feeling like something was going to break. I'm definitely hoping for different this time around. Plus I've always thought that Firebirds were sick looking. I've wanted one ever since I first saw Knight Rider reruns when I was like 3

Re: New owner to be
I had a 944 a while back. It was pretty reliable and handled great, but not the quickest car I've owned. Not fun to work on either. The worst job I ever did was put a clutch in that car.
My Iroc isn't a whole lot more reliable and doesn't handle as well, but it sure gets moving faster. Oh, and the wife likes the T-roof. Enjoy your new toy.
