roller rockers on stock heads
Hey crew
I was just curious if removing the heavy stock rocker arms and replacing them with roller replacements would help the motor run better.
im not sure what size is on there but im guessing 1.5. which would be better to install - 1.5 or 1.6 and what brand. i see a lot of comp and crane ones.
thanks for the help.

she does have a few mods but nothing along the lines of heads and cam

Generally agreed. I've found a few ponies by going to a set of 1.6 ratio rockers with a stock cam. The extra lift doesn't hurt. A set of stamped steel roller-TIPPED rockers from Comp or off-brand are a budget bolt-on upgrade without having to deal with clearance issues of big fat aluminum body full roller rockers. You'll need them to be self-aliging rockers for your year of engine in any case.

Comp makes a set, but it's 2 bills+:

Crane also makes a set of narrow-body full roller aluminum rockers in your choice of 1.5 or 1.6 ratio but you will likely have sticker-shock at the price. Definitely not a bang-for-the-buck champion on a near-stock engine.
