Constant vacuum source

I'm not sure if i'm posting this up in the right section or not. I just ordered a painless vacuum lockup kit to retain 4th gear lockup on my 700R4. The reason for this is I am switching to a carb down the road. But I want to hookup the kit in the meantime and still be able to drive it. I need to pull a line from a constant vacuum source for the kit. I'm not so sure about T'ing off the fuel pressure regulator or the brake booster is such a good idea. Whats the other port on the plenum next to the AFPR? Is that for EGR? I would think that would probably be the ideal place to tap into it as I have EGR disabled in my PROM anyway.

Re: Constant vacuum source

School us on the "vacuum lockup" thing, I don't see what vacuum can do to lock up the convertor?

I know there are some things you can do inside the tranny to lock up the TC when only in OD, but don'tee waht a vacuum mod could do?

There'd be no point to installing it until you switch to carb.

The two ports on the passenger side of the plenum near the AFPR
are vaccum source for the AFPR and the pesky EGR solenoid.

Seems like a good place to draw vaccum if your omitting the EGR.
