Is there ANYONE that knows the TPI fuel system?
Hi there...
I have been posting some threads earlier on a TPI swap I got on my car.
I havea 1987 Camaro with a 305 LG4 engine in it. I have a intank pump now that i am going to change to a TPI pump and I also have to change something on my fuel lines.
Many people tell me that the fuel lines are the same this year because Camaro did have a intank electric fuel pump that sends fuel from tank to the mechanical pump. Do I have to buy NEW fuel lines on my car?..That is my main question..

The steel lines should be fine, I'd replace the rubber lines with new high pressure stuff just in case.

Ok..Thanks a lot for responsing so quickly...I have heard that the steel lines should be the same...What about the fuel filter?..that should be close to the gas tank on TPI cars. Should I cut the line and put a filter in or what??

I just wanted to say that I will be okay with the rubber hoses the parts store's sell here in Norway...The fuel rubber hoses here have a working pressure of: 90PSI without any problem....They will explode at: 300PSI so I think my TPI fuel pump at 45-50PSI will operate good.
In other words I will replace my old rubber hoses from fuel tank to steel lines with new hoses, And I will use fuel hoses from the end of the steel lines in to the fuel rails, only with a fuel filter between...

I would also get a block off plate and gasket and remove the mechanical pump. It can't help you any and might reduce line pressure. If it should develop an internal leak, it would quickly dilute your oil.
