I have a 91 z28 with the 305 tpi and i need advice on what performance parts to buy. (nothing too radical)
I do not plan to swap a new engine in anytime soon and allready have a 3.73 posi rear.
im looking to get the car in the lower 9 second range in the 1/8 mile.

the 9 second range is a little far without swapping to the 350. if you want, you could get a really nice cam, port your heads, get a nice set of headers and an exhaust. get some better rockers. if you plan on gettin a bigger cam, get a more powerful fuel pump. if you wanted i guess you could bore your engine out .030 over. i wouldnt go anymore than that though, the 305 block has less room to bore out than the 350. if you ever do plan on gettin a 350, the cam an head will bolt up to it so you dont have to re-buy everything. a good set or tires to hook up on the launch will help. if you do all that you MIGHT be in the 11-12 second bracket. if you want 9's then your gonna have to put a 350 or 383 in and bore the hell outta them.

 

lower 9 second range in the 1/8 mile is a far reach for a 305? because it took it to the track last weekend and ran a 10.09
