Cooling Fan Kaput?

Hi all,

My 91 Z/28 has started wailing at me! It happens when the drivers side fan is running.

A quick look and i can feel that the fan is loose in it's mounting and moves enough that it can touch the radiator on one side. Compared with the a/c fan which doesn't move at all

Now the question is, is the fan finished? or does this just sound like it needs remounting? If it's finished can anyone recommend a source for a replacement?

Cheers

Bungle

Re: Cooling Fan Kaput?

might only be loose mounting bolts or posibly the nut
that mounts the fan to the motor shaft is loose-(that nut
is reverse thread BTW),or could be bad bearings in the
motor. If bad motor get a new one from a GM dealer or
get a good one from a salvage yard-lots of GM vehicles,
including front wheel drive used the same fan motors
for many years.
