87 TPI 5.0 TPS adjusting info

I was told that if the TPS is not ajusted right,it will make car buck on take off.True? or false? The book says to adjust it between .047-.061.What is the best number to set it on?? Is throttle response better closer to the lower number or higher.I'm just trying to find out what's the best choice for setting(if any) and if bucking/running like crap has something to do with it.

Thanks

Re: 87 TPI 5.0 TPS adjusting info

i tried last night and pulling it up all the way i could only get to the .4xx range. right in the middle of the tps sensor travel range is .05xx. set mine there and had a little over 4.0 volts and wide open throttle. throttle response is great. i want to know once and for all!! IS IT .054 or .54 volts?

Re: 87 TPI 5.0 TPS adjusting info

pre-89 = 0.54v
90-92 = 0.76v

adjust it in sequence with your idle speed, increase in idle speed = increase in tps voltage.
