Need help ASAP please!!! Ford Fuel Injector

I'm in middle of installing 19lb Ford Racing fuel injectors and one of the retaining clips broke. I have read on here that you do and again that you don't need them. So which one is it? Do I need to find a clip somewhere before I put it back together? I'm on my way to autozone to get a new fuel line that the end twisted off of and pray someone answers this by the time I get back.

I think it's best to run them if you can but I ran mine without them (they were the Ford ones) and didn't have any leaks. I think it's all in the o-rings. If they seal properly then your alright. If not, well you might have some problems...

The retaining clips are to hold the injectors in the fuel rail when you need to remove it, to prevent the fuel spray when you are not ready. You won't notice anything at all until you remove the fuel rail at a later date and that injector stays with the intake, just be careful because you will get fuel all over for a bit once pressure is relieved and the fuel is out of the rail.

Re: Need help ASAP please!!! Ford Fuel Injector

Thanks for your help guys. I put the clips on all but one. It hasn't leaked all weekend. I think it's good. Just glad to have the car back up and running. I changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, O2 sensor, IAC, and tested everything else involved with fuel and air/fuel mixture. The injectors was the problem. Runs and idles better than ever. Thanks again guys.
