How can I get more power in my '87 305 TPI without any major mods?

simple, you cant!! you cant just do nothing and expect it to perform! i dare say that this topic has come up time after time, but to start with, and the simplist is to do the exhust. headers, cat and cat back. this will make a bit of differance.

What i meant was without taking out the crankshaft and the pistons. Things like that.

Dont supercharge/turbo it, and you wont have to take out the crank shaft and pistons. Depending on what your expecting, (hp, torque) your stock internals should be good up to 500 hp. That is if you dont over rev your motor over, lets say 5500 rpms on the safe side.

Do a search. The boards have been around for years. People have discussed upgrading engines.
