89 LB9 injectors replaced with 3.8 series 1 injectors..
Hey,
After quite some time of hunting down my problem i found 6 out of my 8 injectors to be electrically bad. So! I had 6 injectors from a 91 Bonneville 3.8 series 1 non-sc engine. PN 280150901
Supposedly these injectors are very similar (or perhaps the same?) to the Ford 5.0L injectors. As far as I have found they are Bosch injectors, first generation, with the 4-hole pintle tip for "improved" atomization. 19lbs/hr @ 43.5PSI, 14.8-15Ohms.
I ran the car for about 15 mins today with these injectors.. new bosch 02 sensor tells me that I am quite lean.. however, it went to .000 for several seconds straight (in closed loop), kinda a weird reading. (No knock/retard though) I didn't get a code though. (PS. I have A.I.R. capped off BTW) Also, the two old Rochester injectors are in cylinders 1-3 so perhaps they are clogged and leaning me out?
Anyone see an issue with using these injectors in place of the originals? I want to get two more to replace all 8 soon.
But I'm slightly skeptical that the ratings on these injectors may be different than what I need?

check your plugs, it should tell you if you are running rich/lean. on the other hand I would have replaced 8 injectors same time with new bosch or svo but thats just me...

Yeah well, the wallet was the biggest problem. I had the 3.8 injectors "on hand" for free. Good thinking with the plugs - I actually meant to do that but for some odd reason I forgot, lol. I know before that one was super-rich while the other 7 were super-lean. Of course, the old injectors were shot.
Watching BLM today, it stayed below 140 through several cells. I think they are going to be okay - however I believe that the 2 leftover injectors are semi-clogged. d'oh!
Thanks for the reply.
So, I suppose I'll just follow the plug's and not worry so much about the numbers the computer sees.

I’d try to match all up If possible at least and with money I understand. But the spray pattern is going to differ slightly at least get them all the same.
