could it be the tps ?
ok guys first post..i have this problem with my 86 trans am , 305 tpi, it wont start on its own..if i give it gas when starting it fires right up. i have to keep giving it gas or it dies just as if you turn the key off.. i turn the key on and hear the fuel pump prime and i hear the little click..i have searched and searched..probly not wording it right in my searches but, any help would be awesome..

Putting your foot on the pedal , cuts OFF the injectors because the computer think you are trying to clear a flooded engine
If it starts with your foot on the pedal, then you have TOO much fuel in the engine. Start looking at leaking injectors , leaking cold start injector etc flooding the engine with fuel.
Obviously with too much fuel , you have to keep the throttle open when it starts because it is too rich. Like a carby car with the choke on.
Do the injector leak down test to see if injectors are leaking. Disconnect the supply line to the CSI and see if it still starts rich

ok i will check that out..one thing i did notice was i had just put new wheel bearings on it and drove it a few miles and it was running a little ,muddy ,kinda like it was loading up on fuel..only when i got on it though...thanks for the info
