So right now I have a 355 completely carbed without any computer involvement in an 83 z28. I was pondering what I would need to go to fuel injection. Would a computer from a 350 have the proper parameters for fuel and such for a 355 also? Or would that not work? I know I would need the computer, ecu, knock sensor, intake manifold, intake, fuel injectors, fuel rail....am I missing anything? Also new fuel pump and fuel lines possibly.

You would also need a fuel return line going back to the tank in addition to all of the things mentioned. Your best bet is to find a complete fuel injection system in the junk yard to get everything. If you get one off a 305, you will probably need bigger injectors; and you will need a new knock sensor because the 305 and 350 are diffferent, and the knock sensors won't interchange and work.

 

So the injectors and knock sensor are the only different things? Would the computer from a 305 also work? How do I figure out of my 83 z28 came stock fuel injected or carbed? Thanks for your input, I am just starting to read up on this and get into the gritty details. I know it's a big job, but that's why I have this car, to learn and have fun.

 

Doesn't matter what the computer came out of so long as it is compatible with the intake setup (SD or MAF) being run
