IAC has sucking noise AGAIN
IAC has sucking noise AGAIN
well guys, the quest to find the sucking noise is still on.
I cranked it up to move it out of the shop and it was back.
I'm beginning to think it is the new IAC unit I installed. I'm going to hook up the scanner tommorrow and see if I can find any odd readings.
If you have any new ideas, let me know.

Re: IAC has sucking noise AGAIN
Ya know TPI motors do naturally make a sucking sound like a serious vacuum leak. Its just the way the throttle body is shaped and this is what air foils are supposed to help with (not so much the sound though it does in the process but to allow the air to flow in a much smoother manner).
Re: IAC has sucking noise AGAIN
I understand about all that, but this thing equals a vacume cleaner hose stuck to your ear. It's so loud that you have to yell at someone standing next to you. After 2 or 3 minutes it goes away.
Re: IAC has sucking noise AGAIN
You are going to have to set minimum idle via the throttle blade stop screw. I have had to get rid of the same noise and I did this by adjusting the stop to open the blades a little more.
