1987 L98 coldstart questions/concerns

Hello everyone I currently have a 1987 iroc-z with a 350. the car was not driven at all this year just stayed partially stored and we worked on it so it is now ready for next year. at the beginning of the year (long story) paper towel was sucked into the engine. We were going to take the engine appart but ended up cranking it over until it got burned out. well after alot of cranking (and a new starter) we finally got it running. It used to start right up when it was cold. now it takes 3-5 long cranks and it sputters to life. runs great, it's just getting it started. now, I think the timing was played around with but was set back... could this problem be something as simple as the injectors or sparkplugs need to be replaced because of all the stress we put on them during the few weeks of getting the towel out? I noticed when I started it up a week ago the fuel pump priming noise was longer than usual ( usually primes for 2 seconds but it seems like it was priming for a good 4-5 seconds when the key was turned).

thanks alot!

Have you inspected the cold start valve for proper operation?

It's not good to let a car sit for a year without starting it.... So try this: If you think that it's not getting enough fuel to start it, unplug the coil wire, turn the engine over a few times to get some fuel into the intake, and then plug the wire back on. Then try to start it.

Also ohm out each of the fuel injectors to see if they are all about the same resistance. Somewhere around 14 ohms I believe.
