87 iroc need help
hey guys hows it going i recently bought a 1987 iroc camaro 5.7tpi with t-tops for 2grand i think i got a good deal. its pretty much stock except for some shitty exhaust named vortech and its got a beefed up tranny. i work for a tranny shop and its a reg 700r4 with stronger internals. i know this might sound weird or people will say i lied but i took it to the track recently and the best time i got out of her is 13.8 and i got a 1.6 60foot which i think is bad *** for a near stock camaro. i have the slips to prove it and i ran 3 runs and got 14.0 at first and a 13.9 and then a 13.8 so i been driving around and loving it but i rencently blew the head gasket and i dont know if i should carb it or keep it tpi. btw its got 55,000 miles on a jasper motor and 160,000 on the body and i still have the stock 350 that came out of it. i know alot of guys say carb is better or tpi is better. i know carb is better tuning but i herd you can get alot of power out of a tpi. i dont give a f about gas mileage so i just wanna know whats better if you guys can help that be awsome i also wanna know if i got a good deal outta the car. its my first third gen and i love it i had a ls1 and lt1 but sold them like a dumb *** for some slow mustang. let me kno what i should do thanks

Re: 87 iroc need help
i 'm not sure your car is "pretty much stock" with a 1.6 60'. with a 60' like that you should have ran a low 11sec 1/4mile. since the tires were hooking then, with all stock suspension the rear end would have been shaking and bouncing all over the place and adding time to your 60', which is easily fixed by some aftermarket lca's and some relocation brackets. i'm not saying i don't believe you, just maybe you have not inspected the car thoroughly. vortech?? are you saying the car is supercharged?
