Spark plug wires getting "toasty," any thoughts besides shorty plugs?

So I used to run taylor 8mm wires with 90' boots on my old 350 with shorty headers, and never seemed to have any issues. But after running the car the other day through it's first initial runs, the #3 and #5 boots of my MSD 8mm's are toasted pretty bad, #5 being the worst. After looking at some various other plug wires, none really seem to be more heat resistant than the others. I'm running angle plug heads and hedman shorties, just looking for some input, if anyone's had success with a particular brand. I may try routing them close to the block/oilpan vs. dropping down through the primaries from the valve cover. Thanks guys

Will

I've been using a similar boot since '03 with my uncoated headers and have yet to have a problem with my 8.5mm wires
You'll be happy

FYI, there's a C-clip inside one end of the boots....pry it open a bit with pliers to make slipping them over your boots easy and squish 'em shut some after...they go up the wire, away from the plugs
