Fuel Pump Burns Out
Fuel Pump Burns Out
I'm new to the forums so if this is in the wrong section or something just let me know.
I have an 1989 Camaro RS. Been having trouble with the fuel pump. It somehow keeps burning out on me. Obviously the car won't even turn-over, won't even try to start.
The guy I bought it from replaced the fuel pump once because it wouldn't run. He replaced it and then it died on him. Assumed it was because he bought it from a junk-yard that it was just bad.
I bought brand-new fuel pump and the car ran for a while and then the fuel pump died. I bought another fuel pump and the car ran for a while but now it won't start again.
I tried put some Starting Fluid into the car and it turns over and tried putting gas straight into it the engine and it turns over and tries to start. I also have spark. And the only thing that fixes it is replacing the fuel pump.
What causes this?
