Spark Gap Help and Other
Hey everyone! I'm currently pulling off the pain in the rear headers off my 91 z28 5.7. I recently upgraded my distributor to a petronix, msd coil, and the 8.5 msd wires. My cam specs are listed below. My first question is I've heard that I should increase my gap above 35 but petronix advertises plugs can be set to up to 60. I'm really unsure because there is a big difference in 35 and 60 and i've heard a lot of people recommend 40-45? Also my next question me and mechanic take turns working on you all may know it gets frustrating sometimes working on this cars haha. He has recommended that I switch over to a MAF setup for my car, he says this will provide better efficiency and overall power due to the computer being able to read faster. Would that be a wise investment? THANKS FOR ALL INPUT!

Re: Spark Gap Help and Other
I think the people you should be asking are MSD since it's their ignition coil, and I suspect they'd recommend the stock .035. And while you're in touch with them, ask what they'd recommend with their multi-spark box, because they'd probably have something different to suggest for that.
But if you want an example of a gap that will probably work for you, I run a "cold" plug set at .040, and it runs very strong. Now, that's within the range of wider-than-stock gaps, so it's considered "safe." But I wouldn't recommend anything larger at this point, with your still-basically-stock upgrade.
