stock maf and housing, inside 4inch piping?

searched..alot of people just use the sensor itself...im looking to put the entire black plastic maf housing INSIDE a peice of aluminum piping, i absolutely hate the look of the maf on these cars..

if its sealed internally{plastic housing to the inside of the piping, with smooth transitions, does anyone see an issue with doing this?

this isnt for performance, my car makes a GOOD bit of HP both on mtoor/and on spray..mainly just looking to do this for cosmetic reasons and to "hide" the maf.

I tried to do that with a 3.5 inch piece of piping. It was a tuning nightmare. You won't see much if any improvement in power going from your stock maf, to a 4 inch maf. I don't think its worth the time and headaches

Re: stock maf and housing, inside 4inch piping?

i think you misunderstood me, i was going to house the ENTIRE maf sensor and plastic housing, inside the 4inch tube...with a transition so that its sealed..hard to put into words..

basically the whole maf would be inside the tube, and it would go from 4 inch or whatever ID, to the 3inch ID that the stock maf requires...then AFTER the maf, resume back to 4 inch...

essentially, if its sealed inside properly, so that ALL air goes through the maf as it normally would...there would be zero tuning or rescaling needed? make sense?

then it essentially HIDES the ugly *** maf sensor, bottom portion would need to be sealed off and trimmed for electrical connections, but i think i may try this...if anything, gives me something to do that i have yet to see done before?

plus, might give me room to hide a nitrous line
