maximum power a stock TPI maf can handle

does anyone know how much power a stock MAF for a TPI car can handle? i'm looking to make more power with my car, and i don't really want to change the entire fuel injection setup.

Not sure how far they can go, but I do know I've made about 400whp thru mine with a 383. ran mid 11's at 118+mph in a 3450lb raceweight. MAF maxes out on flow fairly quickly on a large inch, higher rpm, higher power motor, but you can still control fuel input with PE mode.

I switched to a 3.5" MAF for more flow and didnt seem to pick up any performance.

General wisdom is that they max out around 350HP. That's where the MAF maxes out it's airflow sensing range, not necessarily where it becomes a big restriction to airflow.

Likewise, I built a mild 400ci small block using the stock MAF and made about 400HP at the crank. Enough to push a full-weight 87 GTA through the traps at about 113 MPH. The MAF hit the lid by about 5000 RPMs and the rest of the fuel above that point was dialed in by altering the PE tables in the stock ECM.

I have the stock maf, and made 480 hp and 496 torque at the motor. I tried to make a 3.5 inch one, but was to difficult to try and tune.
