88 GTA chip
Hey all I'm new to Thirdgen! found awesome information decided to join.
My question for today is would a Jet stage 1 chip benefit my 88 GTA? it has 172,000 miles. I have MSD distributor, MSD blaster coil, Accel 8 mm wires, Accel cap, iridium plugs, modified air intake system and 3" flowmaster exhaust to cat, and Hitachi Performance Starter. Stock headers. I'm looking for a little more power without much more modding. Is the chip increase be worth the 200 bucks? anyone who have added it on. and in couple years I'm pulling this 350 out to put a 383 in. just looking for a lil extra boost to the mods I have! It said it helps lil horsepower and fuel economy. I run 91 octane fuel as well. would this chip work well if i changed the 48mm throttle body with a 52mm throttle body, or leave it at 48? lol I heard debate over increasing the throttle body size.

if i was you i would finish up the exhaust with headers/y pipe. it will help the engine breathe a lot better plus when you do swap in a 383 you could transfer the whole exhaust over to the new engine.

WELCOME to the boards!...i wouldnt spend the money on the chip ...the headers are a much smarter idea if your pulling the 350 anyway ..youll get the power your looking for plus sound and it will carry to the 383

Thanks for the input! I'll save up my money then. I didn't realize you could switch over the headers
. I was looking at the shorty hooker headers. I got 1/2 inch lowering springs on my GTA right now. thanks to everyone who welcomed me in
