Rough driving

I had to re-do the valve cover gaskets. so I pulled them off put the gasket in etc.

anyways, when they were off I checked my rocker arms, and about half of them were loose. I torqued them to 20-22 lbs of torque which is what the manual said to torque them to. I put the valve covers back on.

I started the car the first time, turned over right away, but idle went down to 200 rpm. I thought the IAC connector may have been dirty. Which i pulled it back out, was little dirty, cleaned it out, put it back on. Started the car again.

started up cold went to 1,000 rpm, for a second, then dropped to its normal 600 RPM. But now the engine sounds very rough. when you hit the gas it revs up easily. It's mainly when it goes down to under 1,000 , idling its rough.

While driving, it picks up speed normal, but the engine sounds rough. none of the rockers are cracked. New pcv, hoses. etc. new grommets, did that when the covers were off. I can't figure out what the hell is wrong. any help would be much appreciated!
