Re: Z28 or RS ?
Is yours a 1LE car? The rs model never got TPI injection systems, other than the B4C i believe the code is for the cop car package. If you have a 305 TPI and the title says Z28 its most likely a Z28. RS only came with 2.8 and 3.1 MPFI, and 5.0 TBI.

Re: Z28 or RS ?
Look in the locking glovebox in the trunk, if the Service Parts Identification decal is still there, and the VIN number on the decal matches the VIN under the windshield, you can look for Z28. If it's not there, it's not a Z28. The only way to get TPI in an RS was the B4C, if B4C isn't in the codes, someone probably swapped the drivetrain. The VIN will tell you the true year and original engine, if either is in question.
