TPI injector question???

Hey guys. I got a 86 TA i'm bringing back to life. Its got a couple cel's and is running pig rich at the moment. Has a bad miss like 2 cylinders are gone. lol Anywho its totally stock besides its got a 4 bolt 350 swap. Everything else is totally stock. Besides checking what sensors are coding i'm questioning there being a couple of bad injectors which are common on these cars and i'd say very possible with how rich its running.

My question is are the 86 model 305 injectors enough for the 350? Its been a while since i've been in the 3rd gen game and remember people debating on this in the past but can't seem to find what i'm looking for so what do you guys think? The most i'll ever be doing with the TPI setup will be basic bolt ons. If these injectors are sufficient for a 350 then i'd rather replace what couple that may be bad to save money. Otherwise i'll look for a set for a 350.

In saying that it spawns another question. What year TPI injectors are ok to run on the 86 ecm? Will any year injector work? I know there were some changes between ecm's from 305 to 350 and also from maf to map so just want to know what to look for.

For that matter should i get an ecm for a 350? I don't want to get into wiring work but if its plug and play and it'd help then i'm game for it.

I'm very excited to have another 3rd gen and a V8 for that matter after all my hondas and I appreciate any help you guys can offer. Thanks in advance.

There is no difference in the ECM's for a given year.
The difference in in the tune on the chip ( as well as a different knock sensor and injectors )
The ECM's are only different when changing from MAF to SD

Why stuff around?
If a couple are bad now , when are the rest going to fail?
Can get the correct 350 injectors ( rebuilt ) for $170 / set

yes, get the whole set and get them flow matched. I know where you can get them in your budget.. Give me a call. 201-258-5600

As far as brands, there's only a few manufacturers, brands are pretty much just marketing tools.

Injectors have become wear items. Like rubber, hoses, belts, if they aren't used they get crappy. They probably need to be replaced once in the lifetime of the car, if they haven't been, they probably should be.

You'll need 22s, you can run 24s. Call me we can go over it. You'll get the bug...

Injectors are independent of the ECM.

NO
