Strong fuel like exhaust smell.
I just picked up an 85 Z28 that has the 89 FI350 in it. Prior owner did numerous mods including mild cam, performance ignition, ported heads, shift kit, 3.42 gears, headers, etc etc. Apparently he deleted the Cat from the car. I can smell strong exhaust, due to the lack of a cat. I also smell fuel, which leads me to think that the car is running rich. My question is, where should I be looking at for the problem. What should I do as I want to get rid of the fuel like exhaust smell. Is this solely an issue with the Deleted Cat or is my O2 Sensor bad?
