Speed Density Conversion Question
Speed Density Conversion Question
I need a MAF to SD conversion expert. Im having trouble figuring out what wires, or what to do for the distributor. I have everything hooked up, iac, iatc, tps, map, injectors but the distributor itself. I bought the car halfway through the conversion, but cant figure out what triggers the dizzy.
Id dont know if I still hook up the original plug on the side of the cap, or what goes inside to the pickup. I think I have to remove the module though, so now what? Where to go next? I didnt get instructions...
Thanx in advance.

Re: Speed Density Conversion Question
There is no difference in the dist hook up SD to MAF
If your harness is for a HEI then it will have the same large flat 4 pin plug that connects to the plug coming from HEI dist base.
If your harness has the small dist plug ( most commonly used on aftermarket harness) then you need the small cap F-Body style dist (has provision for two plugs in dist housing) and a remote coil ( and a wiring connector from coil to dist )

There are conversion adapters available that allow the use of a small cap harness with HEI dist.

Re: Speed Density Conversion Question
Thanx vetteOz, youve been alot of help ! Maybe I should just get your personal email !
Anyways, I found the pigtail and the adaptor, connected hanging back on the top of the tranny. Looks like all I need to give it a go is a module thats missing. I might as well get the module, new cap, rotor, and plugs. Oh ya and the smog pump pulley thats mia too. The list is getting shorter ! Now Im getting somewhere ! Hopefully I'll try to start it by the weekend !
I say that because I found a broken lower screw in the throttle body for the tps. I gotta figure out how to get that out next.
