vapor locked a tpi...
well, it seems it is possible to vapor lock a FI car...
in an effort to try and bypass VATS (that my ecm doesn't have) i ran my injectors relayed from ecm to battery. well, now the relay shorted out, truck cut off and gas ran out of throttle body, through the MAF and out onto the ground. i took all the plugs out, turned it over to clear the cyls, and now its acting like the timing is off. it was running rich as hell, then felt like it was steadily losing power... now, it will backfire, drain the battery, then start with jumper cables. sometimes it tries to run backwards tho. idk if i f'd the cam, or what the deal is, but i'm trying to keep the balancer and timing cover on, if at all possible...
oh yeah, this is an 86 maf , in an s10 with a custom harness

Re: vapor locked a tpi...
You're lucky the MAF didn't ignite your fuel causing a pretty serious fire.
Now it sounds like your sparkplugs are wet.
I would pull them all out and let the cylinders dry a bit, then install new plugs (not the old ones) to start it up.
Then at the very least you'll want to change the oil right away before destroying your bearings with fuel diluted oil.
edit: Your post sounds more like hydro-lock, not vapor lock. I would do a compression test soon if you can even get it running again.
