TPI Build Questions

Here are the specs for my motor swap into my 91 firebird:
Rebuilt 355 stock pistons
Comp Cams Extreme Energy 276hr
RPM Range: Valve Lash: Valve Timing: Duration: Lobe-Center Angle: Duration @ .050" Lift: Intake Centerline: Valve Lift: Lobe Lift: RPM Range: Valve Lash: Valve Timing: Duration: Lobe-Center Angle: Duration @ .050" Lift: Intake Centerline: Valve Lift: Lobe Lift:
World Products 200cc heads w/ matching comp cams valvetrain
Comp Cams Timing kit
350th transmission w/ 2200 stall
3.27 rearend <--changing to posi unit when i get the money

I have a stock tpi system from an 89 to put on this motor,
if i stick with the stock tpi what kind of hp am I looking at and
also what size injectors will I need?

I was also thinking of going with the holley stealth ram intake
setup. If i use this setup what size injectors will i be needing
and also what is the hp gain for the $1500 ill be dropping into this.

Just pulling a number out of the air is irresponsible, but I'll do it anyway.

I'd probably look at 32-36lb off the top of my head to play it safe, but I'd like to see a desktop dyno of this combination to verify.

DD isn't a bible, but a guideline.

Cut and paste is fine but did you actually look at what you put up???
There are no NUMBERS
For cam specs, all we need are duration @50,valve lift and LSA
so it should look like this
230/236 .540/.560 112

Why would you be spending $1500 on a HSR?
HSR can be had new for $600, some extra $$$ for lines and misc
Even cheaper used in the For Sale dept

Well, yeah VO, the fact that all that info is missing doesn't help either, I was trying to be polite, if you can believe that....

Shall we discuss heads?

IF you get my twisted sense of humor, that's why I said we should do a DesktopDyno.

There's no information to put in...

I laughed, but don't know if anyone else got it.

And even the estimate of 32-36....joke. How would I know...

IDK sometimes I just amuse myself, but I hear that will make me go blind.

As to heads, nothing to discuss.....just go buy.......................................................

Re: TPI Build Questions

I don't see the heads being ported. I don't see the HSR being ported either but I do know the cam. If I remember right that cam is either a 112LSA or 110LSA. The power will be around 340whp at the most. 30lbs will be good. The duty cycle will be around 65-70. That's where mine is and my engine is making 383whp@ 6000.

Re: TPI Build Questions

You might as well go ahead and change the intake to the holley now, seeing as your heads are so huge. If not you will have no "set" rpm power band with the stock tpi , i don't think. I think you should be fine with 24lb/hr injectors.

Re: TPI Build Questions

Those heads are way too big for a near stock 350. You should be looking 180-195. squirts would be in the 22lb area.

Re: TPI Build Questions

I would go even smaller on the heads , more like 165-170 cc heads. That is the range of the Vortec heads too.

Re: TPI Build Questions

Also, your cam should be no lower than a 112 LSA. With the tpi, i would keep the duration under 220/220 @50.

Re: TPI Build Questions

Honestly I would go get some used Vortec truck heads and slap a Scoggin Dickey tpi lower manifold on with a mild cam and enjoy 300 HP. Probably cost you $700 or less.
