looking for the best fuel pump for a 89 iroc 305 converted to 350
my fuel pump is going out i think and i want to order a new one. i have a 305 that i was told by my mechanic it was bored and upgraded to a 350 (or 5.7). I want to get a high output fuel filter to replace with and i heard walbro was good, but looking for other opinions. I may do more upgrades in future and would like a fuel pump that can accommodate. the stock part is only about 50 bucks, but id be willing to spend 150$ or so for a good quality one if need b.
also will this lessen my mgp by just getting a high output fuel pump compared to the stock installed now? or does it only send more fuel if the engine is wanting to suck more?
thanks.

Fire that mechanic, never go back to him. Your dog knows more about cars.
You cannot bore, update, or make in any way shape or form a 350 from a 305.
Get your block ID numbers off the block, driver side, behind head, and look them up to see what you actually have for a block.
Regardless, a factory replacement fuel pump and factory replacement filter is fine.
Would help to know what year car, what induction system, what tranny, etc. to help more - update your sidebar info or make a signature so we don't always have to ask.
Oh - don't get another mechanic either - the ONLY way to get it done right is to do it yourself.

actually the mechanic that said this, i never worked with anyways and won't be going back for other reasons. However what he may have said is "converted to 5.7 to push the same hp". isn't that possible? is there anything i can look for to find this out myself?
I also updated my options based on the rpo codes i looked up.
