help::: tpi problems fuel problems
im new to this board and need a little help, i have a 70 camaro z28 that i just put a new motor in, its out of a 87 gta, it has 24 lbs ford motorsport injectors, (its what i had that was new). and it runs fine but the fuel pressure has to be up around 70 psi to make it run good, at 45 it is very sluggish and very hesitant. the computer is chiped to run this injectors also. im thinking the injectors are to small. but looking for some advice.
At 70 psi it has a slight miss off the line and then runs fine when your on the gas. at 45psi its very sluggish but the missing goes away.
wondering if i change to a 30 pound inj, if i can lower the pressure so it will not have the low end miss?
list of mods are,
factory internells except pistons. 10.4.1 comp
patriot 64cc heads
holley stealth ram vortec style
58mm throttle body
24 lbs ford inj
265 lph pump
adjustable regulator
edlebrock performer rpm roller shaft
comp billet timing chain
factory mass air meter
billet aluminum flywheel
t-56 tranny
4.11 gears.

I think 30# at 43.5 psi is in the ballpark. You might want to bump them up to 36# to give you a little room. Maybe one of the injector guys will chime in.

Re: help::: tpi problems fuel problems
any body got anymore ideals. or suggestions.
figured out my external pump was junk (air tex) brand. keeped starving for fuel and vapor locking, so i put and intank pump in it,
new pump is a bosch pump for a 97 vortec truck 350, relief pressure is 95-108 psi and is 227 lph and is the same demintions as for the 85-92 camaros. and only 95 bucks from oriellys auto. better than buying $200+ aftermarket 225 lph pump. (some good to know info about the pump i used)
