Help with 5.0 TPI Install

I have a 1987 IROC Camaro with a 5.0 TPI engine. I removed the engine to rebuild and install a manual transmission, and have some wires and tubes that I don't know where they go. Hopefully someone can identify and help me with the final stages of getting the engine back as it was. The engine is stock and none of the components have been changed since I removed the engine, other than the transmission.

This red wire is in the back of the engine on the passenger side right above the AC box. Where does this wire go? It almost looks like a fuse wire?Name: Questions005.jpg

This green wire has a clip on the one side so it goes into something that clips together. This wire comes from behind the distributor. Where does it go?

I have one of the wires that go into the coil, but can't find the wire that I put the #3 wiring label onto. This car has a factory tack, shouldn't the second wire be located in the same wiring harness as the one that I have? Where do I find the wire that I labeled #3.

Again I removed the automatic transmission that this car came from the factory with. Was this four prong connector for the automatic? And are two of these wires the wires that I need to connect to my 2 prong connector that is on the side of my 5-speed manual transmission?

Also, there are two ports on the side of the throttle body. One large and one smaller. Does the smaller port go to the PCV Valve?

Thanks in advance for any assistance that you can provide me on my search for the final assembly of my pride and joy.

Joe

Re: Help with 5.0 TPI Install

I found the wire that connects the coil to the distributor, so that mystery has been solved. I also understand that there is a oxygen sensor that has to be installed in the header. I hope that one of my mystery wires will attach to the oxygen sensor.

Your single pin connector with the green wire in pic #2 sure looks like an O2 sensor connector.

Hold off on that for a minute. Actully, I think the O2 sensor wire is purple. That green one might be the EGR temp sensor connector. I'll check into it a little more.

Ya, that's it. But it's not an EGR sensor, it's a switch.

First pic, the red wire looks like mine and goes to the hood lamp. Check to see if that it.

Are there suppose to be one or two (one for each side) oxygen sensors?

Large one goes to pass side rocker cover , small one to canister purge
PCV valve is in Drv side cover

Won't use any of those wires with manual.
Should have a seperate 2 wire plug ( purple / yellow wires ) to go to VSS for speedo on the same harness as plug you show.
