Spark plug wire management

Hello folks. I've been using this site for a long time to learn all kind of good knowledge and recently registered and this is my first post. When I took the spark plug wires off my car the stock clips that hold them hugged to the block broke. i was wondering what yall use for wire management that still runs the wires under the manifolds like stock or if there's a place you can buy stock replacements. Thanks!

Re: Spark plug wire management

Good question, I would also like to buy new clips if they are available as a set.

But you don't need to use the proper ones. An alternative is to use a 2" length of plastic loom around the 4 wires you are trying to hold together. Then cable tie them close to where the O.E. mounts were. But don't pull the cable too tight, just enough to keep it in place. The downside to this method is that you will have to cut and use a new cable tie every time you need to remove the wires for whatever reason.

Re: Spark plug wire management

To clarify, I mean put a piece of loom on all 4 wires individually before you tie them together, not just one loom around all 4. You want to reduce the possibility of voltage jumping between them as the wires age.

Re: Spark plug wire management

When I get to the point in my build where I run spark plug wires, I was just gonna google spark plug wire loom to see what pops up that I like. I don't have any of those clips, but want to run my plug wires under the exhaust if possible. Summit racing should have a lot of spark plug wire loom options as well. Here's a link:

Hello jimmy_pop15!!

Have you tried the dealer for the correct spark plug wire separators?

If you have the correct part numbers, and the dealer can't help you, try vpartsinc.com Your dealer should be able to help you with this also!!

Also, most any junk yard with a chevy V-8 will have a few of these lying around, free if you know how!!!
