Hey guy im new to this site i have a 91 tpi in a s-10 im having trouble keep it to idle break down on engine:
flat top pistons
stock heads 1.94 1.50 stainless one peice neck down valves
comp 1.5 ratio rockers
8 into 1 header 1 5/8 tube
injectors 30lbs
comp cam specs : intake .462 exhaust .469
duration @ .006 intake 262 exhaust 270
int open---25 btdc--- close 57 abdc
exh open---69 bbdc--- closed 21 atdc
tpi is all stock
tps is @ .53 idle 4.43 open
iac is free and clear and moves
fuel pressure 45
computer has been tuned
can you over do injectors so big that you cant turn the injector lenth down enough to tune thanks guys for your help

 

Did you have the computer tuned to run the 30#ers? They are a lot more than you should need. Try to lower your fuel pressure as far as you can. That may help some.

 

Yes it is set for 30lb and i set fuel to as low as 40 ive tried timing at 0 and at 8deg with timing wire unpluged but when i plug it back in i can barely get it to start.... i can rev the hell out of it no problem

I don't think 30ibs is all that big, if I can get 60ibs to idle fine you should have no problems.

Have you tried changing your idle speed in the chip? Maybe bump it up some just to get it working then go from there.

What brand of injectors are you using and how low can you get it to idle at the moment?

 

The brand on injectors are ford its what they sold at Arizona tpi tuning wise they input everything i told them what cam i had and they put a base tune my main question was if the 30lbs was going to be able to tune but if you got 60lbs to work then i think i should be fine.......should i go with 1.6 rockers but heads are stock?? would this help or hurt?
