Temp sensor problems...alternate locations please

Ok...so here is my problem the thermor fan switch went out after installing my headers, so i need to fix it well i dropped the starter so i can get to it because there is not enough room to get to it up top and when i went to remove it of course being brass it would strip on me so i need to take it to a shop and have it romoved.. Here is what information im looking for i was wondering if i put a T or Y fitting on the driver side and hook up the fan switch and the gauge in one location...or of that doesnt work is there another spot to install the fan switch untill i can get it in the shop...and really if it works out i may just leave it in that spot and have a plug put in on the passenger side just so that it will be easier to change if it were to fail again.... please help me out guys....im in a pinch

Is it really that hard to get at? I suppose you could try to T it in with the gauge sender but it will raise your fan on temp if it doen't see as much heat.

Nah..I just spent the afternoon dropping the y pipe and pulling the header and crushed a vice grips on it and got it out and put the new sensor in it's place..and to answer you no it's not that bad but the brass head stripped on it so it made it very difficult to remove unless the header was removed.
