Fuel System Question

Just curious so correct me if I'm wrong but is it true that the LS1 fuel system does not have a return line?

The reason I ask is would there be a way to retrofit this on to a TPI engine? This would remove the need for the EVAP system, correct?

Thanks

Re: Fuel System Question

Well...as I understand it a LSX system runs at ~70 psi and that is regulated by a special filter that doubles as a pressure regulator. The LSX system is returnless, so from fuel is fed from the tank to the filter and then splits to form a 70 psi line and a return line that dumps right back into the tank.

Our 3rd gen systems run at ~45 psi and they have a return line. Theoretically they could be fed from a returnless system set to run at 45 psi, after we cap the return line and reprogram the computer to run at the higher pressure or create a custom fuel pressure regulator. Neither will be cheap.

No ; two separate systems
Return line is return from reg that adjusts fuel pressure.
Evap line is still needed either way as it vents fumes from tank to engine to be burnt.
If you want to delete evap line , install a vented fuel cap and beware of the greenie's
