Aftermarket injectors
I need to remove my super ram upper for something and while Im doing that im going to get new injectors, because i plan to run nitrous soon. This is the issue Im having. I have the multec 22lbs now, never had an issue with them, never had an issue with them locking up under high psi when I ran a 9psi procharger with fmu. They got up to 75-80 psi under boost, never skipped a beat. So im taken aback when I see videos from some injector places with them locking up at 60 psi, whats the deal? Im dealing with nitrous outlet and plan to run a 125 shot but am deciding on injectors now through them. They did the math, with my motor about 400-420 crank hp and a 125 shot a 42lb injector is what im looking at. And they have a great deal on their 42lb racetronix units. I see alot of guys going with the new small design boschs. I may be old school I guess but i want something that resembles stock, reusing the clips and seated correctly in the lower manifold and upper rail, which the multecs do. Dont feel comfortable with that small injector in there and dont see high hp combos running that paticular injector(chime in please if you do!) They seem to have a great spray pattern, (the multecs) So whats the deal? To much information overload on this its making my head spin, im ready to pull the trigger on the multecs. I see alot around the web with guys having no issues whatsoever with aftermarket higher lb multecs. Racetronix says the videos are skewed the way the multecs are tested, the only reason I agree with them is that I ran them at such high psi for so long and never had a hiccup. Mid 12 on bone stock tpi with blower at 112mph a long time ago. So whats the final word if there is one? Hawks still sells the ford svo, as does TPIS, etc, which was my second option(green tops) The multecs everyone seems to dog for the newer bosches are still a hot seller on hot combos. What is the final say? Thanks

Re: Aftermarket injectors
For people that know me I like to get down to the hard facts. When I hear conflicting info from both sides, by people that know there stuff a red flag goes up. One thing about the tpi manifold that has me wondering is how the multecs seat in the lower. When they bottom out I feel the spray pattern is unobstructed. My feeling is that if any injector sits any higher mm wise, then you have a chance of the spray pattern hitting that seat cast in the lower. Maybe Im wrong. I hear so many putdowns of gm design it makes me wonder. Gm in my mind made it a certain way for a certain reason, differing from that design will alter the outcome. I read so many times of guys putting in the bosch 3s only to have high blm readings. Some have no issues. But soup to nuts I bet if you replaced the injector with the design that was supposed to be in there, you would have zero issues. Ive had 50lb multecs in one other combo also that had no issues also. So my luck with them is good. Thats why I want to go with them again. Holley sells them, or at least puts there name on them as does MSD and Racetronix sells them matched. If they were such a crappy design why havent they went out of use a long time ago. That design is supposidly from the 88-89 year gms, and low and behold they are still used and manufactured now, 23 years later. I still cant get over those videos of them completly shutting down at 60psi. Mine ran 75+ all day under boost. So Im curious to the replies here. Thanks

Re: Aftermarket injectors
Well I was orginally going to go with 42lb injectors on my motor but after talking with holley they told me the 36lb ones would be fine. Motor is around 420hp with additional 100or so nos shot dry. They told me the injectors don't like to go below 1.2 pulsewidth witch you might have to on the bigger injector for idle and low speed. Not crazy about these bosch 3s. Not much I can find on them in terms of modified vehicles. I have heard from Racetronix that those videos of the multecs locking up are skewed . I can attest to that first hand. Mine never did. I have to find the thread but when the tests were called into question, the tester said he was going to buy the new high z multec injector, but until this day that test I have not seen. I got a set of 36lb Holley injectors for 244, with jegs price match. Anyone have any input on this subject? Take care.

Re: Aftermarket injectors
I guess nothing then. I went ahead and ordered the Holley 36lb units. Wicked cheap with jegs price match. $244 out the door brand new. Here is a web site so you can actually see where these injectors come from , the boch 3s that is. http://www.dunne-rite.com/products/fuelinjectors.html After I saw this Im glad I went with the Holleys. All those Bosch 3s are used and or refurbished Ford Stuff. And look at the flow rates. Best thing to do in my case is use the manufacture injector that is the same as the ecu in my case thats what i did.
