88 Firebird Formula 350 won't fire??
88 Firebird Formula 350 won't fire??
I was driving down the highway and my firebird just died and wouldn't start. I got it home and found out that it wasnt firing. I replaced the coil, pick-up coil, and module, as well as the cap and rotor. Any suggestions on what I should try next?

The engine turns over but won't fire?
What is the fuel pressure?
Do you have spark?
Do you have VATS? If so, is the "security" light illuminated on the dash? It should be near the "brake" light, etc...
Hope this helps.

Check fuses and fusible links by the battery and down by the starter.
Make sure your getting 12volts every place it needs to b.

The only thing you haven't replaced yet are the wires and plugs.
Are you sure the injectors are firing? Maybe the injector fuse blew.
You could try to start the car using the ICM instead of the ECM (ignition system wise), by disconnecting the brown wire, 1-wire connector, located above the heater box on the pass side. It is the same connector that must be disconnected to set the timing. If the car has spark with the 1-wire connector disconnected there may be a problem with the ECM.
note: CODE 42 will be set if you run the car off the ICM instead of the ECM
Does the engine sound the same now as it did before, when you are trying to start it?
Good luck.
