Building a TPI fuel system

Guys, I am swapping a TPI engine out of a 90 GTA into my old nova. I am wondering if this attached diagram (sorry MS Paint is no autocad) will work in my application.

Any thoughts would be welcomed. Especially the placement of the AFPR.

Re: Building a TPI fuel system

you might want to rethink this, I have used Competition Engineering C4040 Gas Tank Sump on the bottom of a stock 67 camaro tank and a external acdelco ep185 pump and used the stock tank supply as a return and had no starvation issues. if your needing a afpr to compensate for engine modifications you can just upgrade your stock tpi regulator. Or you can do it like this....

Re: Building a TPI fuel system

The AFPR (Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator) IIRC is built on the TPI fuel rails themselves. Its placement should be the esiest part of the swap.

Re: Building a TPI fuel system

Hey man, if you are doing a custom set up , just use the rails. I threaded two fittings to the rear of each rail and then use the rails that T-back into one line that goes to the FPR

Here are a couple pictures

The line that splits into two is the feed and the single coming out is the return that goes to the regulator......

looks like it would be most cost effective to baffle the tank. The engine will remain pretty much stock so perhaps I don't even need the afpr.

Re: Building a TPI fuel system

I recently saw these fuel pickups, and thought they might be a good alternative to baffling. Looks like they can even be installed in series in the tank.
