Third TPS sensor

Ok so I replaced my TPs sensor 6 months ago and 3 months later it messed up again. So I replaced it again and now it's messing up again. When I replaced it I checked the voltage which was right. The pigtail was replaced with the first one and I'm just stumped on to why they keep messing up.

Note I can repostion the sensor and get a high idle without the rough running conditions. Used Autozone brand on first replacement and the second came from a GM parts place locally.

When you say it's messing up, what is it doing or not doing?? Symptoms?

No not getting them wet at all. And when I say messing up running rough, cutting off, putting out black smoke, and cuts off if put in gear. I think its just cheap parts because honestly the Gm and the Duralast one look exactly the same.

Re: Third TPS sensor

I went through 1 oreilys tps sensor, and then 2 borg warners through warrenty purposes because both acted up with in a year, third one was the charm though. You just have to get a good one, because these sensors are the most pain in a** sensors that go out quickly for some reason. Mostly because quality purposes. Try another and set it and also while you around the throttle body, reset Idle air control valve and go from there.

Re: Third TPS sensor

After letting his car sit for quite some time now I decided to get it fixed right. Pulled codes and had a 33 MAF code. After using ALLDATA to diagnose it turns out the ECM is bad. That would explain why no matter what it wasnt running right.

I dont know how I missed that code prior but I am fairly certain it was a 32 before, nevertheless at least I know now.
